Established by City Charter November 8, 1921.

Mayor shall be elected for the term of 2 years.

In the Biennial City Election of 1947 the 6 candidates receiving the highest number of votes for the commission shall be elected as commissioners, the 3 highest to serve for a term of 4 years, the other 3 for a term of 2 years; thereafter, the 3 candidates for commissioner receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected to serve a term of 4 years. 

There are 6 commissioners and 1 mayor which make up the city commission.

Regular and Special Meetings
The city commission meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays in every month, unless one of those Mondays falls on a holiday, then the meeting is rescheduled to another Monday in the month.

Term limit 999 = no term limit (elected members may serve as long as they are re-elected)
