The Citizens Crime Prevention Council advises the city commission and the police department about the needs and concerns related to crime prevention.

The council consists of nine individuals appointed by the city commission for three year terms and the Public Safety Director (ex-officio) and a city commissioner. 

Students are eligible to sit in on this council.

The council meets as required. 

Members who serve three full consecutive terms may be reappointed at the discretion of  the city commission.
